Shannon Cipriano receives Golden Apple Award

Walled Lake Elementary behavior interventionist, Shannon Cipriano, received a Golden Apple Award at the October 1, 2026 Board of Education meeting.

Cipriano was nominated by school social worker, Sherri Kaplan, who describes her as exceptionally knowledgeable, dedicated, dependable, compassionate and supportive.

“Shannon consistently goes above and beyond, stepping in wherever help is needed even if it is outside of her assigned responsibilities,” said Kaplan. “She is self-motivated and proactive, identifying needs, developing thoughtful and creative solutions, and taking the initiative to put new ideas into action.”

“She continually looks for ways to improve the school environment and better support student success,” continued Kaplan. “Her adaptability and willingness to embrace new ideas make her a valued resource to her colleagues and a positive presence for students.”

Cipriano serves as an outstanding role model for both students and staff.

“She leads through her actions each day and helps create the supportive, encouraging environment that makes Walled Lake Elementary such a special community,” said Kaplan.
