Jooley Johnson receives Golden Apple Award
Walled Lake Consolidated Schools’ Human Resources secretary, Jooley Johnson, received a Golden Apple Award at the June 5, 2025 Board of Education meeting.
Johnson was nominated by co-workers Anna Manor and Haley Treloar because she is the first and brightest face that greets and supports our paraeducators, Prime Time Care staff, maintenance teams and food service personnel.
“Her welcoming presence sets the tone for a supportive and collaborative work environment,” wrote Mansor and Treloar. “No matter the task or the time of day, she is always eager to lend a hand with any administrative need, big or small.”
Beyond her daily responsibilities, Johnson plays an essential role in recognizing and celebrating the people around her. Whether it’s a birthday, retirement or another important milestone, she’s the first one to organize a thoughtful gesture or bring a smile to someone’s face. She never misses an opportunity to make others feel seen and appreciated.
Johnson also takes care to include all relevant personnel when discussing improvements, always advocating for inclusive input and shared progress.
“Her positive attitude is contagious, and her optimism uplifts those around her, even during challenging times,” added Mansor and Treloar. “She doesn’t just do her job well—she goes above and beyond for everyone she encounters.”
Johnson’s efforts are not limited to those she is directly assigned to. She actively contributes to the betterment of the entire district. Her impact is wide-reaching, and her presence is invaluable to the teams she supports and to the organization as a whole.
